“Mississippi Delta Latitude - Tropical Attitude"

"Born during the Pandemic"

At Darry’s Food-n-Drink the emphasis is on casual, quality and good time food at reasonable prices. The atmosphere is colorful and laid-back, with a Southern Hospitality experience every day with a little Jazz, Blues, Motown, Southern Rock, Parrothead and more! The deep South is where we also learned the secrets of cooking with spice and the fine art of good-time Southern food.  Our cross-cultural flair skips over cultural and social divides, it's down-home and never highfalutin, slow-cooked and eaten fast, a sometimes sweet and always smoky to spicy feast that fills the gut as it feeds the soul. I was raised on Respect, Tradition, the Blues, Southern cooking and Southern Hospitality (where Hospitality and Y’all is a way of life).

Our mix of the Mississippi Delta & Gulf Coastal waters, makes for a gumbo type of fun and an experience you will always remember and hopefully tell others about. Our goal is Simplicity & Repetition, while providing the best food, the best service and the best atmosphere for our patrons. “Keeping it simple and keep repeating it!”

So loosen up, check out our menu, order one of everything, savor the flavor and get into the good time food and fun state of mind.

I have been asked, "Are you crazy"? Just a little story about what I'm doing in Boyle, MS and why. I was born in the deep South, specifically the Mississippi Delta. It's here where I learned (mainly from my parents and grandparents) Respect, Honor, Tradition and Southern Etiquette (yes, my Momma made me read the book). I have spent a lot of time on the MS Gulf Coast but my heart is here, in the Mississippi Delta!.

In 1975 I moved from Washington County to Bolivar County. That's where I discovered this cool little Delta town named Boyle, Mississippi. It really caught my eye and stirred my curiosity. As time went on, I would past through Boyle, and I started noticing a lot of remodeling going on downtown. Curiosity got to me and one day I stopped to check it out. That's when I had the pleasure of meeting the guy that was responsible for the ideas that started this project. His name was Doug (Dud) Collier. He was doing something so great, he was revitalizing the Downtown Boyle Shopping area. I thought, what a cool idea! He was doing a great job fixing up the old buildings and bringing the downtown shopping area back to life. Over time, I watched the project as it progressed and I admit I was a little (a lot) envious of what he was doing, I wished that it had of been my idea, but it wasn't. He had a great vision for the future of the Downtown Boyle Shopping Area, creating new business opportunities for the area. I wish I could have gotten to know him and gotten ideas from him. Unfortunately, a sudden tragedy took his life, and his Downtown Boyle revitalization dream came to an end. Since then, over the years, I have often thought about his project and wondered "what if" he had finished.

Boyle, although a small town, has grown with the future with several Commercial and Private businesses thriving out on and along Highway 61. Fortunately, Downtown Boyle, with the help from concerned and the dedication of town people, have kept the downtown area nice and clean. Most of the old buildings were eventually torn down, only 3 original buildings still exist. In my opinion, the Downtown area has not been forgotten but preserved for what we are doing, for the completion of Dud's project.

Fast Forward, December 2019: With all of the above in mind and after all these many years passed I decided to try to continue and complete the Downtown Boyle Shopping Area Revitalization and Redevelopment Project, which started as "Dud's Project". Therefore, I was able to purchase several lots and eventually one of the original buildings Downtown and we were on our way.

I knew my work was cut out for me (and my family). I would have to build from the ground up, a redevelopment project. I had to set up budgets, contractors and all that goes with this type of a project. I admit, it's been rough with all that has gone on with the pandemic. Thanks to those who have endured me while I stretched the budget, I want the BEST or NONE at all, period! Those that know me understand. Who else would have undertaking a project like this during these crazy times!

The main goal I have is, I want to create a great dining, shopping, arts, and recreation environment for those who live and shop in Boyle. I want to provide and promote Mom & Pop businesses in the buildings we build. I want to build on an authentic sense of place and help attract local businesses and residents as well as visitors which creates a thriving and exciting community.

A BIG THANK YOU to those that have had a positive effect on this project, I deeply appreciate it. To The Town of Boyle - Mayor, Officials and their Employees, you have been great to us, you have bent over backwards to help. I can't say THANK YOU enough!!!

For those that want to share the experience, please feel free to come visit and I hope we can live up to expectations. PLEASE SHOP LOCAL, the Delta depends on you, all of us!
